Welcome to the Sonia Fine Art Portraits Experience
A Guide to Your Luxury Portrait Commission
Thank you for choosing Sonia Fine Art Portraits to document your legacy, presence, and story. We are thrilled to collaborate with you.
Beyond creating a digital file, our mission is to craft an enduring physical archive—museum-quality pieces designed to be passed down through generations. This guide will help you prepare for an unforgettable session.
1. What Happens Next: The Timeline
Step 1: The Pre-Consultation
Before your shoot, we will connect to discuss the creative direction of your session. We’ll talk about wardrobe, styling, and how you envision displaying your final portraits (e.g., custom wall art, heirloom albums, or folio boxes).
Step 2: Session Day
Relax and enjoy the experience! Your session includes professional guidance on posing, expression, and lighting. Whether we are capturing a personal branding session or a legacy family portrait, our studio is a space of comfort, polish, and empowerment.
Step 3: The Reveal & Design Consultation
A week or two after your session, you will return to the studio (or join a private virtual gallery) for the big reveal. You will view your beautifully fully-retouched portraits for the first time and select the physical artwork and digital collections you love most.
2. Preparing for Your Session
To ensure you look and feel your absolute best, keep these preparation tips in mind:
Wardrobe & Styling
Bring Options: We recommend bringing 3–4 distinct outfits ranging from formal/elegant to smart casual.
Texture over Patterns: Rich textures (velvet, silk, knitwear, lace) photograph beautifully. Avoid large, distracting patterns or heavy logos.
Fit is Everything: Ensure your clothing is tailored, pressed, and makes you feel confident. For corporate and branding sessions, a well-fitted blazer is timeless.
Grooming Tips
Hair & Makeup: If your session includes professional hair and makeup, arrive with a clean, moisturized face and dry, clean hair. If you are doing your own, apply slightly more definition than your day-to-day look.
Details Matter: Clean, manicured nails are highly visible in close-up portraits. Avoid trying drastic new skincare treatments or hairstyles right before your session.
3. Designing Your Legacy Artwork
We believe that your portraits deserve a life outside of a smartphone or hard drive. During your Reveal Session, we will help you design custom pieces tailored to your home or office:
Museum-Grade Wall Art: Handcrafted, statement pieces framed with archival materials.
Heirloom Folio Boxes: Elegant, fabric-bound boxes housing matted prints—perfect for changing out displayed art.
Bespoke Albums: Custom-designed books that beautifully document a complete collection of your favorite images.
